23/04/08. 21.30. A 17-year old youth lost control of a 125cc moped outside the Eagle and Child and suffered serious head injuries.
19/04/08, 18.45. Two men seen using long pole to probe the ground.
17/04/08. Glue-sniffing den destroyed.
03/04/08. Police motorcyclist touring heath.
18/02/08. More damage to ash saplings in south wood by children and adolescents.
14/02/08. Fire, drink cans and more damage to ash saplings in south wood. Hazel planted three years ago snapped off. Motor bikes again on heath. Bags of dog faeces stuffed into hedge by dog walker(s).
13/02/08. 09.45, 10.20, 15.20. Youths on green mudguard mini-motor bike riding down Windsor Road.
12/02/08. Damage and fire in south wood. Saplings broken and alcohol bottles (vodka, lambrini, Bailey's) smashed.
11/02/08. More saplings torn down in south wood.
08/02/08. Gangs of youths congregating in north wood, riding motor bikes, setting fires and breaking saplings. Police and Council informed.
04/02/07. Nuisance motorcycling by youth from Blenheim Road. Police informed.
07/09/06. Bike from Blenheim Road which has been repeatedly driven round the heath finally confiscated by police.
15/07/06. Three ash saplings damaged in north wood.
18/03/06. Youth and girl without helmets on green scrambler bike with number 125 riding along paths.
14/01/06. Green scrambler bike and quad bike speeding on Ashton Heath and round Blenheim Road. Reported to police - crime no. 1784.
A dog owner's contribution to the work on the heath 07/09/05. A minority of dog owners continue to allow their pets to foul the heathland and pathways despite requests for them to respect the environment. This week dogs were even being allowed to foul pathways whilst volunteers were building them.
27/03/05. Scarlet willow planted last week pulled up, presumably by the vandals who have caused damage to the work before.
16/03/05. Fly-tipping cleared by Street Scene team. Some whips pulled up, and some recently planted bulbs dug up.
01/02/05. More saplings uprooted or snapped.
31/01/05. Trees planted along the fence line uprooted.
06/01/05. The Vice-Chair of AHRA witnessed a critic of AHRA's restoration work attacking the dead-hedging and depositing the branches on the heathland,
17/10/04. Damage to heath: Two men, one in his late forties and one in his sixties, arrived this pm on bicycles and started digging on the heath. They ignored comments from a member that this was illegal, and eventually disappeared in the direction of Golborne. The damage they have done will take several hours to repair.
