Descendants of Thomas Dexter and Ann Davies

Thomas Dexter was born in 1794, He married Ann Davies, daughter of Edward Davies, in 1817 at Selston.

At the 1861 census Thomas was listed as age 65, living at Lordsfield, Hartshead, together with his wife Ann, daughter Elizabeth (24, unmarried, cotton frame tenter) and son Samuel (22, unmarried, coal miner).

By the 1871 census Thomas lived at 94 Keb Lane, Bardsley with wife Ann and daughter Elizabeth (36), and died on April 30th, 1872 at Keb Lane. Thomas and Ann had the following children:

• Susannah Dexter, b. 11 Apr 1818.
• Elizabeth Dexter, b. 1835, a cotton frame tenter.
• Samuel Dexter, b. 1838, a coal miner.
